The classic heavyweight Diner mug is a classic piece of Americana. If you’re drinking a freshly brewed pour over or batch brew out of one, usually accompanied by a donut the size of your face, you can be sure you’re in for a pretty good start to your day. It just hits different.
For us that was usually a sign we were on our way to an Oregonian adventure in Mt Hood National Forest with a bear claw Donut from Joe’s.
So when we spoke to our talented friend Calderfornia Ceramics Club about our first collaboration we had one brief. “Do you think you could make something with the feel of a classic diner mug, but with the colours and texture of the Pennines?”
